Plan - Financial Planning

Financial Planning is the foundational stage of a successful financial life.

No matter what age or life stage you are in – by taking an overarching view of all the pieces that affect your financial success – cash flow, debts, risk management, insurance, investments, taxes and estate planning – we shore up and expand your possibilities.

I’ve developed a very engaging process to develop your plan. We do it together - centered on your values and goals. We interact within a unique and comprehensive software system that makes the complex simple and understandable, graphically presenting concepts, issues and solutions that really will help you understand where you are now and how to get wherever you want to go. It will be your financial plan. And it will change and adapt as you work with it through the years, as circumstances change, we address it, solve it, and keep you moving forward.

The plan can take you from young adult to older, from first job to 35 years at one, from solo-preneur to large business owner - from helping direct your path of protecting and growing your assets to providing insights, tax-efficient and tax-advantaged ways of utilizing what you’ve accumulated to best provide for you and yours – this generation and the next ones.

We do it together, face to face and virtually.

We’ll discover your risk tolerance levels in another engaging way. The tools I use will help you see it, understand it and own it.

Saving / Cash Flow / Budgets / Debt Management

Depending on your stage of life, chances are you’ll have a distinct approach to saving. New graduates or young couples have different needs than retirees or mid-career families or employees or business owners. No matter your personal situation, there are ways to help you develop financial habits that will lay a strong foundation for your whole life.

Younger individuals and couples have a number of benefits in terms of financial management. Low insurance costs and a long investment horizon, combined with fewer responsibilities, can make for an excellent financial base. I can help you build on these advantages, while at the same time considering a debt load that might include student loans, car payments or perhaps a mortgage.

Couples planning for a first child enter into a new level of commitment—both personally and financially. Learn how to save for a child through specialized insurance and investment products, such as a 529 Plans. And as the family grows, get help determining the short, mid and long term priorities within a budget that feels very stretched all the time.

Mid-career professionals typically have higher incomes than younger investors—but they also carry more responsibilities. From mortgage payments to a child’s education, consider a financial plan that balances your needs and obligations and your own best future.

People who are near retirement or retired have worked hard at their careers, and now is the time for change, other adventures, charitable pursuits or perhaps diving deeper into areas you didn’t have time for before. Chances are children have moved from home, the mortgage is mostly paid off and a few investments are coming to fruition. Income levels, however, may drop after retirement. Find out how to manage your finances while you are working in a way that allows you to fully enjoy your next chapters without worry.

No matter your life stage, reach out today to learn how to balance savings and investing with your other commitments.

Tax Planning

No one likes taxes. But with the advice of a professional financial advisor, you can access products and services that help ease the burden. Charitable contributions, life insurance policies and investment products purchased through your employer can all be useful tools in an effective tax strategy. Working together, we will consider your personal situation and design a plan that is as tax efficient as possible.

A good CPA is a great resource and part of our financial team.  If you are looking for CPA resources I can provide the names of some quality, talented people.

Succession Planning

Preparing for succession after death is a difficult issue to discuss, but it is also an important part of any comprehensive financial plan.

We can help you and your loved ones approach succession planning in a constructive manner that ensures they avoid problems and are well cared for in the event of your death. The process involves two main considerations: life insurance and preparing a will.

Life insurance can ease the financial burden and provide security for your loved ones in the event of your death. A lump-sum payment can be used for mortgage costs or to supplement lost income, helping your successors during a difficult period. Financial security and stability can make it easier to cope with the loss of a loved one.

A written will and trust if appropriate provides a means to guide your loved ones through the succession process. By naming your executors and providing instructions on the distribution of your estate, your surviving loved ones avoid having to guess your wishes.  A clear, carefully considered written will provides clear instructions to your successors. Save your loved ones the stress of dealing with financial issues by planning for your succession while you are alive.

I have a wonderful resource to share with you. Obtain a personal ‘vault’ in the cloud to hold all your documents, pictures, last wishes, anything you want to make sure you never lose or that can be the ‘key’ your loved ones need to understand where everything is and what you want done.  Let’s talk about it.
